The
New Year is here!! As
the clock struck midnight
to ring
in the New Year, you were full of excitement about your New Year’s
Resolution and what you want to accomplish. You may have made a
resolution to move your business to a new level. Maybe you want
to start that business you have been dreaming about. Or that new
innovative product is ready to be introduced. You want to just finish
that business plan. Or you may even want to stop procrastinating.
The
first week you were working on the goal with all of your strength.
Now weeks later, some of you are still working hard but some of
you are back to your old habits. For many, New Year’s Resolutions
are something we want to do but after a short period of time, we
don't hold true to our resolutions. Don't beat up on yourself. Take
a different approach.
It
may be that your resolution is a goal that is too big or overwhelming
when you look at the whole thing. Break it up into smaller pieces,
say 12 months. Let each month be a different step in completing
your resolution. Make up action steps for each month that will move
you closer to what you want to accomplish in the year. As the months
pass, you will see you are moving closer to achieving what you set
out to do.
Whether you are
starting your business this year or growing an existing one, take
time to plan actions each month to keep you motivated and moving forward.
And don't forget to reward yourself as you go through the year.
