| 1. Grants Total $200,000
The National Association for the Self Employed (NASE) is giving grants up to $5,000 per business applicant as part of the 2006 Business Development Grant program. A total of $200,000 will be awarded. When evaluating applications, NASE will look at the identifiable business need, how the grant will be used, and the impact the grant will have on the overall business growth and success. 2. Start-ups Can Get Grants
In an effort to assist business owners achieve economic empowerment, the Miller Urban Entrepreneur Series is sponsoring a national business plan competition. Start-up businesses are eligible to win $50,000, $20,000 or $2,500 grants through the business plan competition. Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old. Judges include individuals from the business community, college business schools, and local business owners. Applicants must submit their business plan along with an official Miller Urban Entrepreneurs Series Business Plan Application by November 9, 2006.
